Featured Friday!!! Everywhere I turn lately I hear “Ayano”, “Ayano”. So I thought that would be a good pattern for our Featured Friday today!!  This is one of my favorites for lots of reasons.

“Ayano” is a Japanese girl’s name that means “from love” and “made of fabric”.  I thought that was a perfect name for this pattern.  This pattern was created as a way to help with the devastation in 2011 with the tsunami in Japan.  100% of the sales were donated to Samaritan’s Purse and we were able to help in a significant way and share love in Japan.  I always say…I have the BEST customers!

The other reason I love this dress is because of the layers of flirty flounces.  NO GATHERING on this dress!!  The flounces are uniquely cut as bias cut circular flounces which give them an awesome drape and also speeds up sewing it!   It was Ellie’s Easter dress a couple of years ago and also a Christmas dress this last year.  It was originally made as a special Valentine’s dress.  So, it works for lots of occasions!

Today’s featured pattern is Mini Sporty Girl (for 15″ and 18″ dolls)! (We also revisited Sporty Girl for girls size 4-12 and made some fun updates to it!)

Mini-Sporty Girl and Sporty Girl have LOTS of options!  You can have short sleeves, long sleeves, or layered sleeves.  You can have one or two ruffled skirts attached.  Or, you can also shorten it and make it into a hooded sweatshirt! (not shown here)  With its front kangaroo pocket and hood in this cozy knit, your girl will LOVE this comfy dress!

I had a lot of people ask me where I got this knit.  This was from JoAnn’s and it is REVERSIBLE!  I just got 2 1/2 yards of one fabric and turned pieces different ways to make some fun new combo’s for these three dresses!  I have never seen reversible knit fabric before!  This is a really soft jersey – lots of stretch but still a nice weight.

This last week was an exciting one around here with working on brand new patterns for Spring, the Scavenger Hunt, the Sewalong, AND TWO fabulous new businesses who are now carrying Ellie Inspired patterns!!!
