Doll Week – Day Three

Day Three is here!!!  I just love how this one turned out.  Included in this pattern are sizes for 15″ and 18″ dolls.  If you are sewing for American Girl dolls, this means that you can sew for the Bitty Baby, My Twin doll, or any of the 18″ dolls using the same pattern.  I especially love it on the Bitty Baby with the tiny little bloomers!

This matches the Lucy baby (Newborn – 36 months sizes) and Lucy Locket pattern (Sizes 1-5) already in the shop.  How fun is that to have lots of mixy-matchy things!

This is Mini-Lucy which has a placket in the back that velcroes or snap it together.

Fun little bloomers are also in the pattern.

This is going to be 30% off as a special release sale until NOON tomorrow ONLY! So pick up your copy QUICK if you don’t want to miss out on this special price!

Click the picture below to purchase!

Hmm….what will tomorrow’s pattern be???? Aren’t you dying to know?! See you back here tomorrow to find out!

Doll Week – Day Two!

Are you ready for the cutest little doll dress you’ve ever seen?  Carissa did a spectacular job with this one.

I’ve shown these pictures LOTS before on my blog but remember these pictures I took in the bluebells a few years ago?  This dress pattern (Pixie Girl for sizes 4-12) is one of my favorites.  I know…I say that about a lot of them. :)

But, now Ellie is beside herself with excitement because she can match her doll now!!!  What little girl doesn’t love rows upon rows of ruffles??

This is Mini Pixie Girl which has the same flounces as the girl pattern.

So, although it may look time consuming…it’s not!  There is no gathering required!  The flounces drape in pretty folds because they are cut on the bias.

This is going to be 30% off as a special release sale until NOON tomorrow ONLY!  So pick up your copy QUICK if you don’t want to miss out on this special price!

Doll Week Day One

Today is the official first day to kick off this week of doll patterns.  I have one more to release that I promised you yesterday…Posy Baby and then a fun, free pattern for dolls and a sneak peek of what’s coming this week.

You might want to check out the sidebars too. On the left is a “New Arrivals!”  so you can easily see what has been added to the shop in the last month or so in case you missed any of them.  Above that is the link to our Stash Contest that is happening right now on our Ellie Inspired Facebook group page.  You can click the logo below to be taken to the page too.

ALL of my patterns are now in my Etsy shop..HERE!

Much easier to view and find everything and I also have bundle packs available all the time for some great savings!  If you buy them in bundles, you are essentially getting a free pattern!  There are no doll bundle packs yet…so you will want to make sure to catch the new release each day this week.

So, here is Posy Baby!

This is the matching pattern to the one released on Saturday.  It comes in sizes Newborn – 36 months and includes a ruffled diaper cover.  This is the garment that holds a special place in my heart because it was the very first pattern every published or photographed!  I hope you enjoy it!  (Remember if you don’t smock, you can gather the skirt instead).  The smocking plate and embroidery designs are included.

Click BELOW to pick up your pattern today!

Here is a sneak peek at one of the adorable doll patterns coming this week!  This is the Mini Vintage Baby (matches the Vintage Baby Romper for sizes newborn – 36 months that was released last week).  Remember, all of the doll patterns include both 15″ and 18″ doll sizes.  This is shown on the American Girl Bitty Baby.  Carissa made this matching set and took the pictures.

So to kick off this week right…we are starting with a free pattern! :)  We posted this one a couple of months ago but it didn’t get added to my free pattern page so many people didn’t know I had it!  Doll leggings to go with the girl legging pattern!!  Click on the link to be taken to the free pattern!!

Check back here tomorrow!!!

All of these new patterns are Absolutely Adorable !!

From Out of the Vault

Doesn’t that sound cool?  I feel like Disney when they release their movies from the vault for a limited time! :)  Over 3 years ago, I released my very first pattern, Pocket o’ Posies.  It was a paper pattern with smocking and hand-embroidery.  Fine Stitchery gave me a shot and carried it in their shop.  I kept the cover garment that I made for Ellie in a tiny size 1 as a keepsake for starting my business…kind of like how people frame the first dollar they ever made.

So, I learned and learned and grew and grew with pattern making.  My format became clearer with better diagrams and I moved into the world of PDF patterns.  PDF’s are the future of sewing.  Even the big 4 companies: Simplicy, McCall’s, Butterick and Vogue are starting to create electronically delivered PDF’s.  Pocket o’ Posies became an out of print but sought after pattern.  I haven’t offered it for sale for a long time and I would get emails asking if it would ever be available again.

So…IT’S BAAAAACK!  And waaaaaay better than ever!

The girl pattern now comes in sizes 1-8 and has an option for a tunic-length top or a dress.  You can do ruffle sleeves or puffed sleeves.  You can smock the skirt or gather it.

I also added baby sizes with a matching diaper cover for Newborn – 36 months.

Annastasia Cruz from My Treasured Heirlooms made this beautiful Pocket o’ Posies top and changed my embroidery design into shadow work.

Jan Boyd made it into a dress and modified the smocking plate to go all the way across the garment.

Such beautiful examples!

You can pick up your copy of the pattern here:  The baby pattern will be coming in the next couple of days.

So….do you want to know what cool thing is happening next week?

It is DOLL WEEK on my blog!!

Carissa is going to debut her BRAND NEW patterns – one EVERY SINGLE DAY!!  Yep that’s right!  And she even might be throwing in a free pattern sometime during the week!  Please make sure to check it out every day!

Have a g0od weekend!

I love the embroidery on the baby pattern.

Big Changes at EI!

This last month has been a crazy whirlwind of changes at EI and my blog has been reduced to once a week sales posts.  It is May 1st and everything is in place now to get caught up here!  Lots of you have been asking about my free pattern page – I will be working on that tonight! :)  So check back tomorrow.  Also, my new email address is ellieinspiredpatterns@gmail.com.  So if you had an email bounce back, that’s why.

I love looking back at my start of Ellie Inspired and how each year has changed.  I am all about reflection and setting goals.  Each year has a distinctly different feel to it as EI grew and changed.  Now, it is three years into the company and I have around 100 patterns available for sale, a team of incredible people who help me, and a business that has grown to the point I can’t physically keep up with it all myself.

Enter…Carissa!  Carissa started a few months ago with helping me test different patterns and doing cover shots for patterns.  She is a go-getter for sure and has the same crazy work ethic and drive that I do!  She started trying to help me with taking a little more off my plate here and there.  I got the chance to see her style and work with her on a couple of patterns.  I realized this girl is really good! :)  And we work well together so I approached her about working with me on a full-time basis.

So, I’m excited to announce that Carissa is now head of my doll department!!  What this means for you are more patterns, more sewalongs, more contests, more freebies, more everything!!  We have some fun plans for this year.  I’ll let you read below to get to know Carissa better and all her remarkable talents.  Please help me welcome her and put my blog back on your reader if you gave up on me last month:)because we have soooo much in store for you!!

“Let me introduce myself…my name is Carissa Haning and I am a wife, mother of two, friend, blogger, and about a gazillion other titles that are too numerous to list here. My love of sewing started when I was just a little girl! I looked up to my grandma and she lovingly sewed so many of my clothes. I wanted to do the same. At 6, as my very first 4-H project, I sewed a skirt and simple shirt and I was hooked! I sewed every year after that and became a pretty good model as well (which if you know me will make you laugh pretty hard now).

I stopped sewing when I was in college and law school; but as a gift when I graduated law school, my parents gave me a sewing machine! I started sewing again while studying for the bar, but not much as I had so little time. Eight years later, after adding a husband to my life, we would adopt boy/girl twins from South Korea! I gave up practicing law to stay home with them and then realized how few matching things you can buy for boy/girl twins. So the sewing machine was back in service and by then I had added an embroidery machine. I started sewing again and even doing some of my own designs only for my children.

Recently my daughter, Johanna, became the proud owner of Bittty Twins ~ Baby Johanna and Baby Samuel~ and she firmly believes not only that she and Baby Johanna should match, but that Baby Samuel and her twin brother, Samuel, should also match! Thus began a search for doll clothes patterns! I found that there were not many 15″ doll patterns out there, but I would modify the 18″ patterns to match Johanna’s clothes. I LOVED Ellie Inspired patterns because they required no modifications! I am so excited to be a part of that process for the dolls now!”

It’s going to be a fun year!!

xo,

Laura
