Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve been asked this question many times and decided to address it here…

Can I sell items I make from your patterns?

Yes, you absolutely can!  If you are a home sewer (not a mass production company), my designs are for you!  When I first started my business in 2010, I put some copyright information in my patterns about not selling more than 6 items and everything is personal use only, etc.  I honestly added that information because many designers do and I figured there must be a very good reason for it.  Well, 11 months later, and I haven’t actually figured out what the reason may be so I say…go for it!  I’m a stay-at-home mom too trying to make some extra moolah for my family and I encourage you to do the same.  Just please, in consideration of the many hours I have spent on the designs, always give credit to me as the designer.  On your blog, etsy site, or hang tags on your garment, state something like: “Dancer skirt pattern by Ellie Inspired”.  Adding my web address (www.ellieinspired.com) would be wonderful, too.  Thanks and I wish you great success in selling!

Remember, my Flickr group is available to everyone.  I would love to see how you interpret my patterns in your own creative style and further your businesses.

Can I use the photographs on your website in my shop or blog?

Definitely!!  Anything other than any personal pictures of my family, kids, home, etc are available for you to use to promote Ellie Inspired patterns in your shop.  Thanks to those of you who asked permission before copying and pasting!  Below is my logo.  Feel free to use to help promote the sales of your patterns!
