My New Favorite Color!

Posted by Laura Johnson on March 5, 2011 at 12:00 AM Comments comments (2)

This is another one from Tanya Whelan's "Delilah".   When you look at her whole lovely collection, this little green dot fabric may not catch your eye immediately.  But, isn't the color gorgeous?

I was planning on using it as an accent fabric for another outfit or even just for binding.  But, when I made it up in this School Girl jumper with the grosgrain ribbon and dotted swiss shirt, I fell in love with it.

White dotted swiss...my favorite, with green whipstitch piping and this vibrant green.   Aaahh...chases those winter blues right away!

School Girl is in the Shop!

You were right Cynthia if you guessed I was finishing up School Girl! I made a couple of changes to it:  it is now a lined jumper which eliminates a lot of bulk at the back button placket and the bias arm bindings.  It is also a little longer to hit right at or above the knee.  I just added it to the shop!

If you make one of these cute jumpers, upload your pictures to my Flickr account.  We want to see!

Guess what I'm working on today!!

I guess I'll show you just a few more.  Those aren't very good clues above anyway.

I will be uploading it to my website tonight!

School Girl and Tester Pic's

Here are the results from the School Girl jumper and blouse pattern:

You may notice that the lengths are all different from the testers on this one.  My pattern was written way too short!  So, some adjusted their length, some called me and we lengthened it proportionally in each section, and some followed my pattern exactly so that I could see what I needed to change.  Thanks all of you for doing this!  So, that is why this one was delayed in releasing it.  But, I've adjusted the length and will be making it available as soon as I return from Convention!

Aren't the pictures beautiful from the testers, though?  They all did a wonderful job and I was so thankful for their willingness to work with me on adjusting the measurements of this pattern.  Thank you all SOOOOO much!

Cynthia's daughter looks like she could be standing in a beautiful Orchestra Hall in her black velvet jumper with satin piping.  Just gorgeous and oh, so classic.  I love it!

Nicole's daughter is cute as can be in her little Scotty jumper.  I didn't show a picture of it but she put big pink buttons down the back.  Just darling!

Shannon made a black and white houndstooth jumper with black piping for her daughter.  Another darling, classic outfit especially with those white knee-highs and black shoes.  I hope you don't mind, Shannon, but I'm going to make one for my Elisabeth just like this one!  It looks so pretty with her dark hair.

Marlena was a new tester for me and she did an amazing job!  I hope that you will test for me again, Marlena!  Your beautiful daughter is just so sweet in this chocolate brown and pink polka dot jumper.  I keep going back to look at that sweet smile.

Oh, I couldn't resist showing you this one!  She will probably kill me and many of you probably recognize her from another blog.  I would take her home with me in a minute, frown and all.  She's just so cute in her ladybug twill jumper!  And this gave me a big laugh one night when I was really tired and working on this.  Thanks so much for that too!  :)

Okay, here's her cute little smile!  Thanks Ahnalin for modeling this for us!

It's so interesting to see the different looks this one can take on from classic to dressy to fun.  If you get this pattern and make it (or any of my patterns), add your pictures to my Flickr group so everyone can see too!

P.S.  Take a look at yesterday's post.  I posted Sylvia's dress and it is sooooo cute!!  She is so creative with using three different fabrics.  Amazing!
